Hey there! Yes, sorry, I've been very busy. I should be able to do more this holiday weekend. Ah, my ideal way to spend my holidary: pouring over audit reports :-) I may be an atheist, but it seems as fitting a way as any to commemorate Jesus' birth.
The purpose of this blog is to store news articles and other information about Iraq's oil. As the title of the blog
suggests, it is written with the philosophical viewpoint that the natural resources of Iraq belong to the people of
Iraq, as their rightful inheritance, to be prudently managed in an equitable manner for their benefit. As such, it
will focus upon corruption, accountability problems, and indications of system-level shortcomings in the management
of the people's oil. As international experience has shown, there is great benefit to be had from natural resources.
However, when these benefits are not properly managed for the appropriate interests, wealth of natural resources can
lead to intolerable ongoing suffering for those who should be benefitting the most.
